Florence

Florence flourished as a center of medieval trade producing enough wealth for it to become the birthplace of the Renaissance. Dominated by art, artists and archetypal architecture, the entire historic center of Florence is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Led by the Medici family dynasty beginning in the 15th century, Florence became home to many artistic marvels including Brunelleschi's Duomo Dome, the Baptistry doors, Giotto's Campanile, Michelangelo's David and works by Botticelli, Donatello, da Vinci, Raphael and Titian among many, many others.
