Grand Canyon

south rim to ghost ranch along the south kaibab trail

Walking the Rim offers an unforgettable perspective on earth's grandest scar. Morning light and evening light present a canyon with two different personalities - the first fresh and pristine; the second often moody and more complicated.

Less than 1% of all visitors to the Grand Canyon travel beneath the Rim. Hiking from top to bottom is a journey towards the center of the earth. Constantly changing geology on the way down ensures that trekkers into the canyon see and experience more than 99% of all other topside-only visitors to the area.

The Grand Canyon's three main trail arteries converge at the bottom of the canyon near the energetic Colorado River. The ever-booked Ghost Ranch is a green oasis conclave of quaint guest cabins along the refreshing tributary, Bright Angel Creek.
